Just Wrapped Jolene, Burgh Bound

Wow, Jolene is finally wrapped. It was a long, grueling shoot, I am glad it’s over. I’ll take the lessons learned to heart so I can further my career. It was great working with Donny Mosley and the electricians from Local 728 and The OC. I’m back in the Burgh cleaning out my storage unit now that I know what i need in PHX. I’m taking everything to auction, selling my truck and flying back. I was going to drive home, but after driving across the continent in a small car (blows) and my S10 isn’t any roomier. My other thought was sell it all, buy another motorcycle here and drive home the south route via the 10 across Texas 😀 But as my Mother pointed out: I already have a motorcycle, lol, yea right haha.

Hey, here’s some info on a new Digital Feature, Munich, shot by Steven Spielberg. Film is soon dead folks, no matter what you think. I’m definately interested in seeing it, and how digital looks on the big screen. Especially since I’m shooting 3 shorts and a student thesis now til the end of the year.

Flickr + Google Maps = Geobloggers [ Tempus Fugit | TxFx.net ]

Here’s a neat Tutorial on how to GeoTag your photos in Flickr and have them show up on the GeoBloggers version of Google Maps. GeoBloggers also allows GeoTagging of video and podcasts. Neat to see the Satellite images of locations you have taken pics of and also cool to see what other photogs have snapped in the same area. To use the Greasemonkey script you will need Firefox, you are using Firefox, right?

Well have fun, I am GeoTagging my pics, hehe.

Macworld: Feature: The power user’s guide to Firefox, Page 1

Mozilla Firefox is rapidly catching on with Mac users, and for good reason: It’s free, fast, and flexible, and it does an outstanding job of displaying most Web pages. (This cross-platform browser is also increasingly popular among Windows users, largely because of its excellent pop-up-blocking features). And beneath Firefox’s simple interface are some surprisingly powerful features. The following tips will help you maximize this up-and-comer’s potential. (All these tips were tested in Firefox 1.0.6 but should also work in newer versions.)……….click the link above to read more….

XM Satellite Radio
XM Radio uses two Boeing HS 702 satellites, appropriately dubbed “Rock” and “Roll,” placed in parallel geostationary orbit, one at 85 degrees west longitude and the other at 115 degrees west longitude. Geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) is about 22,223 miles (35,764 km) above Earth, and is the type of orbit most commonly used for communications satellites. The first XM satellite, “Rock,” was launched on March 18, 2001, with “Roll” following on May 8. XM Radio has a third HS-702 satellite on the ground ready to be launched in case one of the two orbiting satellites fails.
XM Radio’s ground station transmits a signal to its two GEO satellites, which bounce the signals back down to radio receivers on the ground. The radio receivers are programmed to receive and unscramble the digital data signal, which contains up to 100 channels of digital audio. In addition to the encoded sound, the signal contains additional information about the broadcast. The song title, artist and genre of music are all displayed on the radio. In urban areas, where buildings can block out the satellite signal, XM’s broadcasting system is supplemented by ground transmitters.
